At Last, the Ocean!

Nov 6, 10:38 PM

It’s still raining. But I finally got to the Pacific Ocean. I’d never seen it before. I’ve never really been in the western part of the country before. But here it is:

This means that I’ve officially gone from coast to coast. Maine to Washington. I’m a bit amazed that I could do it. Everyone said I’d be exhausted (which I am), I’d want to go home (which I do), and that my bike would break down (which it didn’t), but I’m here. I feel amazing.

It’s hard to see anything in the smothering fog, but just right of center is a triangle where shellfish are caught, and just right of that is one of the many lighthouses that dot the coast. It’d be a great view, and a great place to visit, if it weren’t raining.

But it is.
